A website that makes you want to go to Romania. We organize tours to Romania and we offer you tons of information on Romania.

You had no ideea, didn't you? Romania is in the top 5 wine producers in Europe and in the top 10 in the world! And if we add the fact that Dyonisos, the god of wine was born on Romanian teritory than you'll know that the only thing left for you to do is to visit Romanian vineries and drink lots and lots of top quality Romanian wines.
Jidvei Castle
The thing is that they only deal with groups so you need to bring your friends and make a reservation in advance. You can use a local travel agency for this (here is a list in case you need one). The bad news is that you have a long way if you are coming from Bucharest and the road infrastructure is not exactly the best in the world but it is good to know that you have a closer airport in Tg. Mures and one in Sibiu.
Anyways, even if the roads are not as "friendly" as they should be, consider it as an adventure to get there. And above all consider this: your trouble to get there is worth it! Here, you will only taste white wines as Jidvei is not making red wines due to the climatic characteristics of the region. However, do not be discouraged by the perspective of finding only white wines because they will be between the best you ever had.
Jidvei is situated in Alba County. Find a list of hotles in Alba County HERE.
Domeniile Sahateni
Unfortunately no pension to stay overnight but you'll have a nice tasting room (one of the nicest in Romania) and if you are lucky enough Aurelia Visinescu herself will be there to tell you about her wines. In case you don't know yet, Aurelia Visinescu is a famous winemaker who actually made the Romanian variety of Feteasca Neagra famous nationally and internationally. She (Yes, the winemaker is a she!!!) is probably one of the most professional, devoted and charismatic winemakers in Romania and even if she only owns a small vineyard of about 70 hectares it is worth going there because the wines are simply divine.
Sahateni is situated in Buzau County. Find a list of hotles in Buzau County HERE.
Zarea - the sparkling wine maker
Zarea is a sparkling wine maker with great tradition. The beginnings of Zarea go back until 1912 when their first factory was founded by a German entrepreneur. They are still making sparkling wine respecting the original recipe. That is something!
Another spectacular thing about Zarea is that they keep their top quality sparkling wines in a network of tunnels built initially for military purposes. As war is not anymore a major concern for Romanians, Zarea found a good way to use these massive underground tunnels by populating them with noble root from France to create the best conditions to keep their sparkling, probably the best in Romania.
Zarea SA is situated in Bucharest. Find a list of hotles in Bucharest HERE.
Murfatlar - Simply huge
If you are a fan of wine but also of huge vineyards then Murfatlar Vineyard is your thing. Starting the 3300 hectares of vineyard, everything there is huge. The cultivated surface is huge, the factory is huge and of course the production quantity is huge.
In Murfatlar you can find a large variety of vine, therefore a wide selection of different wines. Romanian varieties or international varieties, it does not matter. Murfatlar has both.
There is also a nice restaurant where you can taste delicious local food and the best wines of Murfatlar and the best thing about it is that it is located on the top of a hill in the middle of a never ending vineyard. Imagine the scent of the blooming grapes... The thing is you need to make a prior reservation and as much as possible take your friends with you as they deal with groups. However, if you are a lone wolf with no friends you can try to go to the restaurant by yourself and without reservation because there are plenty of seats and you should be able to have a meal (we recommend at least making a phone call before you go just to make sure that the place is not filled up with large groups of tourists).
Murfatlar is situated inConstanta County. Find a list of hotles in Constanta County HERE.
