Splash! And the hundreds of great white pelicans start to feed. They catch the fish while swimming at surface, but in an elaborate game of hide and seek.

They are too big for diving, a bird being about 10 kg heavy. The water seems to be boiling and you can see the fish they are catching.

You are now in the Danube Delta, in a small boat with paddles, right next to the world's 50% of the white pelicans.

They each eat more than 8kg of fish/day, and they are on thousands. A real heaven on earth. But wait! They have to fly away. The image of thousands of huge birds galloping on water

to catch speed is more impressive than the one of a Boeing 747! At least once in a lifetime, one has to see such image with its own eyes. This show is more fulfilling and more impressive than everything else you ever experienced.

In the afternoon, back at the hotel try to have some rest. That's because the food will keep coming and drinks will keep filling your glass. The locals are amazing when cooking the fish

they have there in abundance. Do not abuse it, because it's so easy while there to forget you have just one stomach. Try to drink more beer than spirits because the locals love

spirits which have about 60 to 70% alcohol in volume, and do not forget to take some mosquitoes repellent with you.

Good for visiting from late of March to early November each year.
