MOLDOVA - Beautiful girls and good wine!

Moldova is synonymous in Romanian language with the following:

1. Beautiful girls (as a proof, Miss Universe Romania is from Moldova)
2. Good wines
3. Rich history
4. Rich culture
5. Draught and famine.

With a ratio of 5 to 1, we declare Moldova a must visit Romanian region, not just once but repeatedly.

There was once a bigger Moldova, proud and rich, but got unlucky and had to be divided with Russia. Nowadays, parts of this Moldova are in Ukraine and Republic of Moldova and economically speaking they are very poor, the lack of luck being since its Russian occupation an omen.

However the Romanian part of Moldova is the luckiest Moldovan territory. Economically booming, it offers great attractions such as churches, citadel ruins, cultural cities (Iasi, Vaslui, Neamt) wineries, resorts.

Food

Moldavian pies are the best in the world, but there’s something better than the pies there. It’s the Moldavian version of the traditional Romanian sarmale, which is rolled cabbage. They’re small and made up from various meats, but the best ones are made from goose meat. They’re as good that even French chefs will cry upon eating one while ceasing thereafter to make their French magic anymore in favor of Moldavian dishes. Soups there are also among the best Romanian food we can think of.

Wine

Moldavian wines are wines need no introduction. With 4000 years of wine history and a perfect climate, vineyards flourished as nowhere else. Go to counties such as Buzau or Vrancea and you will be surrounded by vineyards from all directions. There are even jokes about moldavians that they do not know the taste of water.
