Crisana is the North-East region of Romania and its name comes from the three Cris rivers that are crossing it.

Bihor County and Arad County are making most of the Romanian side of Crisana. There is another side in Hungary, this historical region being divided in 1920 following ethnic criteria.

The local brand of Palinca de Bihor is the best, the most, the rare and only if you try it you’ll understand why it’s so famous. It’s color is slightly yellow because it is being matured in oak casks, same as the best whisky, and it’s about 60% strong. Although you have the chance to buy it from all Romanian duty frees in airports, we suggest you buy it for less in Oradea.
