The Peasant's Museum - Bucharest

Don't waste your precious time: Go there! Even if you have just one hour to spend in Bucharest, try not to waste it on cheap attractions. The Peasant's Museum, located minutes away from the Government office, is the best place for you to visit.

Why to visit?

Because it is one of the best Romanian museums. Because it was awarded in 1996 the European Museum of the Year Award. Because you can truly grasp there what Romanian culture is all about. And last, but not least, because it was Horia Bernea, one of the most famous Romanian painters that made this museum attractive for the main public as well as for intellectuals. Now, if you are familiar with old style, communist looking Romanian museums, you’ll be shocked – in a positive way – if you visit this Pheasants Museum and mark these words, sooner or later you’ll try to show it to others as well. Life is short and there are so many things you’ll be amazed to discover.

Why not to visit?

Because you promised yourself never to put your foot into a good museum?

When to go?

Every day, except Mondays.

How to get there?

By subway: few minutes form Piata Victoriei Station

By Taxi: from anywhere central, because it’s cheap

Where to stay

Oh yes, you have more than enough to choose from. See a list of hotels in Bucharest here.
