The first gymnast to ever achieve a perfect score of 10 and the only gymnast in history to repeat this performance 6 times. Voted as one of the greatest athletes of the 20th Century and regarded as the greatest gymnast of all times, she was recently awarded a second Olympic Order.

Her first major success came at only 13 years old when she won 4 titles at the European Championship in 1975. At 14 years old, Nadia made history in Canada at the 1976 Summer Olympics in Montreal. Besides the fact that she received the perfect score of 10 for the first time in gymnastics history (which by the way, the computers showed it as 1 because they were not programmed to be able to show a 10), she also got 5 medals only in this competition.

In time she got plenty of medals at international competitions but all this lasted until she retired after the 1980 Summer Olympic Games.

Presently she is as active as she was all her life. She is the Vice-Chairperson of the Board of Directors on International Special Olympics, Honorary President of Romanian Gymnastics Federation, Sports Ambassador of Romania, writer etc.
